Late Season Gardening

Over the next few weeks we’re going to take a look at late season garden activities.  While your summer crops might be done producing, there is still work to be done.  Perhaps you just finished harvesting the last of your green beans.  Prepare an area and plant these cold hardy varieties that can survive the first frosts of the season, and can still be harvested before it gets too cold:

  • Collard Greens
  • Garlic (Harvest next July)
  • Green Onions
  • Kale
  • Leaf Lettuce
  • Mustard Greens
  • Radishes
  • Spinach
  • Swiss Chard
  • Turnip
