Brief Description of Job Duties and Requirements are:
Be able to stand on concrete for long periods, perform lots of walking, withstand hot temp environment at times, work in PPE (chem suits, gloves, respirator) as required
Physically able to successfully pass a respirator fit test
Able to do heavy physical level labor (lift up to 50 lbs at times)
Have no interfering allergy issues with plants (also will have possible bee/spider exposures)
You will be working with chemicals (insecticides, fungicides, growth regulators, acids, etc)
You will need to have basic math skills (a plus if have prior knowledge of pH, or other grower science knowledge)
Job will be located at various greenhouses at various times so will need means to move from house to house
Job will entail working under various growers as production needs change throughout the year/seasons
Work schedule is intense during growing periods and could possibly become reduced weekly hours between seasons (if eligible for West Va. low earnings during these periods, will receive supplemental pay via unemployment)
During growing seasons this is the anticipated work schedule-
Mid February to first of June , 40-50 hours a week, 6-7 days a week;
Mid July to end of September , 40-50 hours a week
Typically the workday would begin at 8 am (this can be discussed in the interview if there is a conflict with applicant needs)
